Happy 2nd Birthday!!!

I can't believe my baby girl is 2 years old. Time has gone by so fast! This year I made a ladybug cake. I got the idea from my sister-in-law and from the "Family Fun" magazine. Not to mention that one of Kenzie's favorite books to read is the Ladybug counting book. The cake was super easy to make, much easier than the crazy candyland cake I made for her first birthday.

If you can't tell the nose and month are the #2.

Mackenzie was really excited when we sang Happy Birthday. She had been practicing for several weeks blowing out the candles (she blew out both candles with one breath). Dan's birthday was a few weeks prior to hers, and when we sang happy birthday to him, she stopped us and said..."no, happy day Kenzie" so we had to sing happy birthday to her instead of Dan.

In the Koutz family with as many kids and grandkids that we have, we find it easier to celebrate birthdays combined. February to April we have at least 12 birthdays to enjoy. So this is the family party to celebrate Dan and Mackenzie's birthday along with everyone else.
Below I made flower cupcakes for the family birthday party. Again another idea from the "Family Fun" mag. These were super easy too!

Cute!! I attempted a lady bug cake YEARS ago and it wasn't nearly as cute. Oh, and love the picture of Dan and Mckenzie's toys! So funny!!!!

Have you seen that book "Hello Cupcake"? Look it up on amazon because you would LOVE it! It's a cup cake decorating book that makes this kind of stuff and shows you all the fancy secrets.

Look at you, Martha Stewart! I am so impressed. Man, I just made a lame rice crispy cake for Jackson (due to allergies), I think I need to hire you as a consultant for the next cake! She is a cutie.
